ps3jailbreak newbie –
01-26-2011,07:04 PM
Is there any resources that are current out there? In my searching I have found conflicting comments some saying dont update to 3.55 and stay at 3.41 and others saying to update to office then to CFW. I have a ps3usbjailbreakdotcom usb stick which says to load 3.55 spoofing for 3.41.
I am currently on 3.40 which I assume I will have to update to the official 3.41 then use the jailbreak usb. At some point I will use a usb drive with some apps loaded to either copy over or just copy the games download to the usb.
My current goal is to be able to get online which I assume will have to be 3.55 and play legit games but to be go offline and play with homebrew etc.
Is there anyone that can clean it up for a newbie? Thanks!

If you want to play online your USB Jailbreaks are now useless. Only way to play online is to go to official 3.55, then to a 3.55 CFW (kmeaw is choice #1 for most people). Then get a backup manager and play using that.
The safety of using backup managers is still being questioned online, no one knows if there will be a ban wave or what's going to happen.

are you saying I could install 3.55 then the kmeaw CFW and still get online without any usb JB stick and just a reg usb drive and the steps?
I understand the risk I just want to be able to do both online and test out the offline games via the HB software on some external or internal HD. If it means being banned eventually I am ok with that but I do want to go online at least once since its a new system and I do want to check out the legit offerings.
So my desire is to get online but still have the ability to run backups offline for however long it works. I just need to know if that is possible and if so how?
