Okay, sorry if it's in the wrong section but it's confusing. :S

I have a couple of questions, I'm purchasing a PS3 slim within the next two weeks or so, and was wondering, is it possible to access game locations once installed to the hard drive?

By this I mean, once a game is installed via backup manager, is it possible to access the root files (such as .exes, .esps etc) to add PC modifications. I saw a video of one of my favourite games being modded on the PS3 (Oblivion, btw) and then it was taken down as I cannot seem to find it.

Basically, I'm hoping to be able to add PC mods to games, is it possible?

Question two, Linux, after reading that AsBestOS is on the PS3 and the Linux bootloader is back (Or that's what I read anyways :S) would say, if I overwrote the game OS by Linux to make it an all-in-one bootup, would PS3 games still be able to run? I'm asking this because back in the days of 3.15 before my old fat 80GB died, I used to do light programming on it and loved Linux, and it was from then I spawned a love for developing freeware and the like under the open source license. I want to have my cake and eat it, basically. I'm not fond of the XMB for no reason in particular, I just don't like it. I prefer to bootup to a computer, but if it means sacrificing all the apps currently available I'll stick with a dual boot.

Question 3, I want to give something back to this little community, but I don't know what PS3 coding entails, any devs out there fancy helping me out? I'm not asking for a teacher (Though that would be nice ) I just want to know what I'd need to learn in order to know how to program on it, but w/e. I know a little bit of most programs, I can understand them but can't remember them for the most part. But then, aside from Linux coding and Roblox coding when I was younger I don't really have any past experiences.

    I hope this isn't too long. :o

First off, thank you for editing for spelling, most people don't have that consideration, lol.

AsBestOS (now called BootOS) is a dual-boot setup, if you were to overwrite gameos with linux, you would lose the ability to play games.

For developing ps3 applications, you'd be looking for psl1ght.

    Thanks guys.

Okay, Python, not exactly an expert on that but eh, I know someone who does so it's all good.

You'll all be seeing me around here a lot more soon.

Sucks that I can't overwrite the GameOS though. :|
