Hello, I was reading around the forum for some time now and I know that you cannot install CFW after 3.55.
I have OFW 3.65, i was wondering...
If I put a new hard disk into my PS3 Slim, can I then install a CFW?

No as the main part of the firmware is on the nand/nor.
ok thanks,
I was even thinking to sell my PlayStation 3 120GB Slim CECH-2001A (OFW 3.65) and purchase a unit with OFW 3.55 of older.
I love my online gaming experience and the PSN Store, not sure if to go in this direction...
I also buy new and used games every month, but living here in Trinidad...the games are costly after customs duty, tax and shipping...
Just for that alone, I would recommend sticking with the latest OFW.
I don't know how much your games are costing you, but you could always go a few months without buying games and use the money you saved to buy a second console with older firmware.
I don't care for online gaming or PSN, so it is no loss to me for putting CFW on mine.
