    Hey all,

From what I understand PS1 and PS2 game saves are 'wrapped' in a file that has an associated signature. Basically if you had a Dragonquest 8 save (PS2) and pulled it from the PS3 hdd onto usb, you could upack the save easily enough based on tools available already from very smart coders. The bi@tch being you couldn't edit them and 're-pack' them with valid signature. This was all in the pre-keys 'middle-earth' where s0ny dominated the world. Seeing as how we now know the keys at least up to 3.55, is there a way to implement this to get an edited usb save back onto the PS3?

I'd be fine with someone giving some assistance, but having to write most the code myself. It'd be fun and I'm still learning how to code C#/++ (teaching myself). This would be a pet project, so I'm cool with it taking a long time. I'm not interested in trying to cheat up KZ3/FPS etc games. I'm sure people will worry about unintended usage, but even if such key-signing methods could be used to also edit PS3 saves, it at least couldn't be used to actively cheat while playing (edits would only apply to saves and not allow for infinite ammo/health and all that useless crap etc) so I feel it should be pretty safe. Thanks for any help.

Ok I’m interested, but I’m still a little confused on what you’re trying to accomplish here...
