Serious FTP problem, can any one help?
Serious FTP problem, can any one help? –
Ok, here is my problem. I can't transfer games from my laptop HDD to the PS3's HDD via FTP. All the time the transfer freezes (in FileZilla) or the transfer slows down dramatically (up to 1byte/sec in Core FTP Lite). I use Connectify to turn my laptop to a Wi-Fi hotspot so the PS3 can detect it (mode - Access Point, WPA2-PSK) and I have multiMAN 2.00.02 plus OpenPS3FTP, but both won't work. But once I connect I can browse the PS3s HDD and even upload or download tiny files (lile covers).
PS3 on Kmeaw's 3.55 CFW
Laptop on Win7
Core FTP Lite v2.1, build 1649
Any help is appriciated!
P.S: I have to force shut down my laptop everytime this happens.
it sounds like a connectivity issue you're having. my best guess is because you're using your laptop as a hotspot. i had an issue kinda like that about a week ago when my router died and i had to use my phone as a hotspot for my laptop and i used my wired connection for my ps3. i would suggest trying another method of hooking up your ps3 to the internet.
Can you tell me what other methods I can use? Or is there a better Laptop-to-hotspot converter software?
Corded is the fastest method for transfer follow this guide^^^
Then theres the Flash drive Copy paste method with Multiman thats my personal favorite its easy and saves a bit of trouble
Message me if you have any issues
Also what kind of laptop do you have? If your processor is poor then its sorta impossible to transfer large files to the system
My friend has an Acer Aspire 1 with Windows 7 Ultimate (Massive fail we caused) and he cant transfer **** to or from his ps3 with it, the thing over heats and the processor rages till we must restart it
@MadnessImport , my laptop model is Toshiba Satellite L456-18H with Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4400 @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz. Thank you for your help, and I am thinking my laptop or the software (Connectify) is causing the problem because after the problem happens the laptop won't shut down but nothing happens to my PS3.
Well do you have a flash drive?
If the Wired ftp method wont help (If youve tried it yet) Then just use a flash drive and copy the game over like that its an easy alternative in my opinion
Also if you do happen to get the games to transfer theres a bug with filezilla it will not transfer a folder with a mass number of folders and files in it you must take them over piece by piece, if not it will time out and just disconnect
@MadnessImport, the wired method looks simple and can't wait to try it after I get the Ethernet cable. I just wanna ask you abt the cable. Are the two ends of the cable the same? And if they are the same do I just plug one end to the back of my PS3 and the other to my PC (no intermideate devices)? thanks again mate.
Yes both ends are the same If you have a xbox 360 Ethernet cord on hand use that
And yes you plug one end in the pc and one in the PS3
No problem glad to help
