Black Screen and External Drive
Black Screen and External Drive –
for many games i have this problem that multiman (latest version) on Waninkoko 3.55 ( not sure, but problem might not be cfw related at all) i unable to run games from External drive ( it loads, stucks on black screen when starting from ps3 menu ) , problem doesn't happen if i copy games to internal and try to load em using internal disk.
now, i know that EBOOT.bin is responsible to provide path to disk data (typically over dev_bdvd) , this this "Backup managers" responsibility to fool games into running games from External or Internal disks? do i have to expect Multiman dev to fix such problems (allow games to run from external as well as internal?) or do i have to create my own .pkg file for that?
thanks, lengthy question
first problem is Waninkoko CFW.. its a very unsteady CFW and has messed up alot of ps3's.. best bet is downloaing the new CFW Kmeaw and using Rogero backup manager .. ive got black ops,NFS Hot pursuit,fifa11 all working fine on this CFW but some games i am having problems with the black screen such as MW2 and MW1 im trying a few solutions at this moment in time.. but my advice is to change CFW follow the tutorial in latest news (y)
Instead of saying "(latest version)", you should put what the version actually is.
At the speed of progression with the PS3 hacking scene, your latest version is now on the edge of being obsolete.
The "latest version" right now is:
Because of the date you posted this question, I assume that you are running:
Just a suggestion.
Not trying to be a hard ass, but most people are going to just assume that you are talking about the version that is currently out "right now" and not look at when you actually posted the question.
I personally would suggest that you update to the new Multiman and see if that helps.
Reading through the entire thread at the psgroove home page may also help in leading you towards a proper fix.
Good luck with it.
And on edit:
I also agree with sfc-dan on using the Kmeaw CFW.
While many people have had somewhat good success with the Wanin CFW, a large amount of people have had nothing but bad luck with it.
You do have the option of trying out several different BM's to figure out which one suits your needs the best. I think most around here are sticking with Multiman or Rogero.
Still, plenty of current options to mess with.
