xRegistry changes after upgrade
xRegistry changes after upgrade –
Assuming I change the dvd region code in the xregistry while under 3.41, will the new settings sustain if I upgrade to 3.50?
I would guess/hope this region filed would remain as is?
As any one experience any xregistry change after upgrading (either to 3.50 or earlier upgrades)
maybe not –
actually read somewhere that any new firmware comes with a new registry, so if this is true then that answers my question.
(Before anyone asks, I have not done the registry change yet - so I cannot confirm if the region change will be effective anyway - seems that a lot of people have tried without success)
thats one hell of a good question... not sure bro.....
dvd region change works
dvd region change works –
following up on this matter, I successfully changed the dvdregion code from 4 to 2 and I am now able to play EU DVDs on my Aussie PS3. A lot of users reported that changing
/setting/bddvd/dvdRegionCode did not work for them, but it seems fine for me.
For those who are interested in doing the same, F/W is 3.41 and I used the xregistry.sys editor 0.75.
Don't forget to reboot the ps3 after you dumped the new registry.
We'll see if the region stays the same when/if I upgrade the F/W to a newer version.
