X3 Max PS3 is now on 3.41
X3 Max PS3 is now on 3.41 –
I have a Fat PS3 and X3 Max. I have backed up my hard drive and downgraded to 3.41 firmware. Now what? I have contacted both X3 and the seller and let me just say that the support has been less than helpful. I hear all this talk about X3Max being able to use any "hex" but, I have downloaded a few hexes and cannot get any to work. I only want to have my kids (6 and 8 years old) to be able to play backups of our current games without handling the discs. Any help is very appreciated.
Thank you, I will try that!
OK, so the HEX goes on the X3MAX and the Gaia Manager goes on the USB Drive? Does it matter where?
Sorry, I am totally new to "PS3 feature enhancing".
TheLaughingBandit (or anyone) specifically which HEX did you use that file has many folders with 4 hexs in each folder?
So as for the different hexs you would use the 3.41 version. I use the one from the Teensy++ 2.0 but honestly i dont think it matters too much for the x3. So just follow the X3Max instruction and use the x3 tool to flash the generic BIN then load the hex. Put the Gaia pkg in the root of a USB drive (for some reason the first 4 USB drives i tried didnt work, not sure why).
Be sure the X3Max is in the far right port and nothing else USB is plugged in. Power the PS3 off via the back switch, wait a couple seconds then flip it back on. Hit the front power switch followed immediately by the eject button (if there is a disc in the drive you'll have to keep hitting the eject button until you hear the beeps). You'll have to follow these steps every time you turn your ps3 on.
After it starts up plug in the USB drive and instal Gaia via the install pkg option in XMB games menu.
Now you should be all set to go.
I am not sure what happened to two of my posts but, thank you for all of your help! I got it working and was not aware of the "nothing else USB is plugged in" portion!
You should read the tutorial carefully before you did that ..
The King of Fighters
hey someone please help I did every thing you said then I used gaia manager to backup the games I backed them up but when I press load to play them the games dont come up its still just the game disk not the backed up game.
What game are you trying to play? Is there a Disc in (some games require that I think)? Did you change the "Mem Patch" (L1) or "Direct Boot" (L2) settings? I have them both "ON" but some games do not like the "Direct Boot"(L2) so I turn it off, Exit to XMB and launch like you do when there is a disc in. Hope you understand.
