Not even sure what the newest firmware is, but whatever it is, that's probably what's installed on my ps3.
I'm just wondering what my options are for jail breaking the ps3 with that firmware version installed? I think the main thing i want to get out of this is the ability to install my games on the HD and not have to pop discs in and out to play a game.
The PS jailbreak ad on the top of this site has a decent price. If i understand it correctly, it doesn't come loaded with any software on it. I have to download the correct version based on what i want/what I have.
So would that key be a good one to get and if so, what software would i need to load on it?
thanks in advance for any advice.

If you have any firmware after 3.41 the only option that will work for you is the PS Jailbreak which cost $100.

Or, you can just buy the E3-Card reader from here at 15$ with free shipping. Now that is able to downgrade I think is the cheapest.

so using that e3 card reader, i'd use that to downgrade the system to a lower firmware and then could i use the same e3 reader to actually jailbreak the system? or would i need to get something else in addition to that?
Also, don't some games require a firmware update before i can play them? Would i need to install the update to play those games, and then downgrade again when i want to use any of the jailbreak features?
I'm also guessing at some point jailbreak will work with the current firmware.
thanks for the advice

Yeah you could use the e3 to downgrade first then jailbreak as well...Best option so far at $15 but comes from Hong Kong and takes a hell of a lot of time... But i guess it's better than the psdowngrade..

i dont mind if it takes a while to get here, i'm not in a rush. As long as it's reliable and won't cause any problems.
