Weird Transfer Problem

hey everyone I am having a weird problem I recently got a slim PS3 swapped out the HDD for a WD WD6400BEVTSP installed this into my PS3 well I wound up returning the PS3 to the store because it was turning itself off other then that I had no issues at all played all my backups worked fine well I got the new PS3 home swapped out the HDD for the WD installed KMEAW 3.55 without a hitch I just started transferring my backups to the internal through FTP using flashfxp filezilla and even tried winscp the server I was running was blackbox v1.2 it seemed like it was transferring really slow and eventualy crashed the server as I had to exit blackbox and reopen to get it to continue transferring it done this atleast 8 times (which I thought was weird but my PC was 31% fragmented) so I assumed that was the problem well I tried transferring again this morning after defragmenting to no avail so just figured I would transfer over usb all was well with the first game but the 2nd one I tried was army of two 40th day and by no exaggeration it took 57min and 23 seconds to transfer over it seemed as though it would transfer a few files and hang up for 5-10 seconds then continue transferring I am lost as to what it could be as I stated my last PS3 had no issues at all other then it started turning itself off therefore I would not think it would be the HDD as it did a full format upon changing it to new PS3 could this be a hardware issue or what? as stated I am lost as to what to do also I searched google and forums before posting and only found ppl talking about online lagg etc. etc. nothing close to my issue any help is greatly appreciated

this thread can be closed/deleted/whatever mods decide as I tried transferring my last backup today after it hit 183 minutes and was sitting at 70% I knew something is just not right so I just returned the ps3 and got my money as that is the 2nd PS3 with issues and both were under 30 days old the first started turning itself off the store exchanged and the second had horrible lag thanks for all the views but I am through with sony products for now sorry for clogging up threads as that was not my intention I tried reinstalling cfw rebuilt database etc. etc. to no avail so thanks anyway

You should have used OpenFTP instead, blackb0x is outdated now. OpenFTP works alot better, and the ftp client on the PC you need filezilla.

I did try openftp this morning sorry just didnt mention that and tried filezilla active and passive, cuteftp pro same active and passive, winscp, flashfxp all had the same weird hangup problem thanks for advice just didnt bother posting those today as I gave up by then also tried multiple ehternet cables through router and direct also tried wifi still the same weird slow/hangup's oh well thanks though
