Update DLC on CFW? –
I am just wondering if it is possible to get updates for games purchased on PSN without putting my PS3 back on-line and launching the game (if that even works for PSN store games).
I am trying to update my legally purchased Planet mini-golf from 1.00 to 1.01 on my 3.55CFW console so that I can use the move controller. If I re-enable connection to my access point then I risk a console ban so I am trying to see if there is another way of acquiring the patch. The game updater utilities seem to be more disc game based. I also don't see patches for anything but disc based games on the PSX Store.
You could try brewology. They have a lot of psn links, even some to full games. Won't work without authentication, but since yours is already authenticated I don't know if it needs to be re-authenticated after an update.
ty blazie151, brewology had a link to it, and it did not need re-authentication. Still shows the original purchase date under info.
Awesome. Thanks for the info. At least we now have a comfirmed way to stay offline and still update psn content. I was kinda wondering if that would work, thanks for being the guinea pig on that one. +rep for risking your psn content, lol.
I got 2 x 3.55cfw systems and a 3.56 OFW so I wasn't worried too much about loosing it on one.. if I wasn't able to find the patch my next step would have been trying to copy the dir from one system over the other (since I still had it registered on the system I was going to copy it to this would have probably worked also, but glad I didn't have to go that route.)
I got pretty much all of my DLC down before they unleashed 3.56 on us, but one of my CFW systems didn't get PSN titles updated so I will be experiment getting Pain updated on it next.. should be a bit more interesting as there are like 9 patch files to go from what they have on the store to the latest version with move support.
