whats a codfag?, oh hll i just want to have all my games backed up?external internally pos3 no need to put disk in! tried to download jailbreak for my 80gb backward 3.60 on sis's laptop but cant get the download to the used cruzer 2gb (its empty-clean i think)???

if u are currently running 3.60 u will not be able to downgrade or install cfw at current time but i dont think it takes away the backwards compat. but for the system to find updates it has to be in a set folder PS3/UPDATE i believe

Actualy if you go read any non-mod gaming website all the "gamers" are piossed at the hackers. But you can even read back months ago(before the shutdown) and they were pissed then too. People with stock systems dont want a update every 2-3 weeks, and they really dont like when phags cheat online. Me personally couldnt care less about psn so its no sweat off my back. And even though people on this site may think sony deserves this, the majority of pos3 users think the hackers deserved to be sued. I for one dont think either deserved the type of treatment they received and dont understand why geo groupies think sony shouldnt protect their product.

It isn't that Sony shouldn't protect their product, it's that they shouldn't be suing people for finding more uses for it. If I find a way to install itunes on PS3 (Which I realize is likely impossible, just an example) should I be sued to hell and back for it? I think no.

No but if you find a way to get games without paying for them then show the world how to do it you should. Please don't act like that's not the reason you want cfw ihaxgames lol

sony should emrace hacks and mods.
hiring them as a "collective hive mind" progress could be exponential, win win respect is everything/ all gains fewer growing pains.
makes both hero's

i agree w/twedittle, expanding the systems capability is prime. i do feel i should be able to open my game dlcs and copy install saves to my familys/friends ps3. so what if they get those dlc's free how much serious money did sony get away with ;froze ps3 out of warranty $699. i replaced mine no sympathy from sony not even a thankyou!!
if it's exploitable people find ways, started after 50's widespread, morals, values, ethics to the wind.

i agree. Its sort of what ms does, if you had a modded xbox1 you probobly noticed a lot of features from that implimented into the 360(at launch) and i recently read that they purposly left kinect open, assuming that people will do more with it than what they did. Then they can take those ideas, polish em up and make money off of them
