I've jailbraked PS3 CECHC04 from 2,xx to kmeaw cfw 3,55, first 30 minutes BD-ROM worked great but after that it stopped working (doesn't show BDROM Icon in menu), It will not play even BD movies, but works with normal DVDs and CDs. Is this because it is CECHC04 and is it fixable ?

    tnx

This has nothing to do with jailbreak. The laser is broken and needs repair.

Actually I have read some people getting a bad FW install and re-flashing the FW worked for them. So it could be software related. Read here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f177/cec...48/#post915425 (CECHA01 not reading disks (timer in top right spins...))

Check the post from dnniwa485, he has the same model as yours cafedelmar. It's worth a try since the likelihood of your PS3 BD-Rom to fail 30 min after CFW install seems fishy. And it's considered safer to go back to official firmware first (OFW3.55) then back to custom firmware (CFW3.55 Kmeaw). And always check the MD5 & SHA-1 of your FW downloads, you don't want to flash a FW3.56+ by mistake and use a trusted site like psx-scene to download from.

Good question. OP has a Fat PS3 right, therefore it does not have the two lasers like the Slim has. (One for DVD, one for Blue Ray) So it might be firmware related.

My friend told me that users who run CFW Kmeaw are in deep trouble later on. There have been reports about non working BD's with this CFW, how much of that is true I cannot confirm sadly.

I hope this is not the case, but a re-flash might solve it.

I have been running CFW3.55 Kmeaw the entire year now with no problems. I think it's a case of bad downloads/corrupt PUP's. EDIT: Here is the MD5 checksums for most firmware. http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/cfw...ecksums-94970/ (CFW MD5 checksums) And Official 3.55 is: MD5: CA595AD9F3AF8F1491D9C9B6921A8C61 & SHA1: A3A0D1C61E17C6A58A5FA247A3DBB51524329E0A

I used the same PUPs (OFW and CFW) with other two playstations (slims) I jailbraked, and it worked fine with them, they have no problem. So I guess MD5 is ok if it worked for other playstations, right ?

im in quite the similar situation. something i have noticed is though, it seems as though the drive is still functioning correctly to a certain degree, but will not show on the xmb unless i load multiman and return to the xmb. then, theres the icon, with the correct image for whatever dvd, bluray or game i have in, but if i remove the disc, or restart the machine, it vanishes, and i have to go back in to multiman, and back out to the xmb to get it to show up again. very frustrating!!!!

yes, I've noticed also at the beginning that sometimes would work when opening multiman and switching on off bdsupport in multiman options. Than I uninstalled it because I taught it caused the problem and put the Gaia manager, after that it stopped showing in xmb at all. I'm thinking on going back to 3.41 JB with PS3Break Dongle, as this is apparently not working.
