Thank you so much for all the help guys.
I have successfully installed kmeaw fw as per instructions.
I now have a problem and am unsure how to fix it.
Every piece of homebrew i attempt to run loads into a black screen.
What is wrong guys?
If you need me to provide extra detail, please ask.
EDIT: Also, im not sure if it makes a difference but I am using the AV Multi-out, as I do not have a HDTV.

Ok,
UEA Amiga Emulator
MultiMan 15.0.0
Rogero Manager 8.0
VICE C64 emulator - fails to start error code 08 (something) I am not on the PS3 right now.
and Genesis Plus 1.2
All give me a black screen using the links provided on psgroove.com

The only thing on your list that I run is multiman. Did you download the full version? The latest version is on this site. As to the others I've never tried any of them so I cannot help you. I would guess that you need to run Lv2patcher to get them to run. One more tip, use Gaia Manager (also on this site) to run backups, it is less bloated than the others and works with most games. I only use Multiman to run one game that gives a blackscreen.
I hope that you actually downloaded those items are are not using the ps3 to link to them.

Lvl2 patcher is not required for any on those homebrew applications to run. I personally have 3 on your list, plus a couple more emulators you didn't list (C64 the genesis? Missed a couple good ones... TG16, NES, and SNES to list a few). My guess is something went wrong with the flash to kmeaw's cfw, I've seen it happen a couple times...
Flash back to OFW 3.55 from the recovery menu, then flash to kmeaw's cfw 3.55 through the recovery menu. Once on kmeaw's cfw, reinstall your homebrew. Keep in mind you don't need the geohot patch. If your unsure how to get the ps3 into recovery mode, look it up on youtube. There's a ton of videos showing it easily.

Thank you for the info guys. I shall try a re-install of OFW and then kmeaw.
I downloaded version 15.0.0 of multiman which I believe is a full version.
I shall report back over the weekend, and let you know how I get on.
Cheers

Hello all!
Sorry to bump my own topic.
I have re-installed the 3.55 OFW then 3.55 kmeaw, and still I recieve a black screen when attempting to start up homebrew.
Is there something wrong with my ps3? Please bear in mind that this is second hand, and i do not know the history of this machine, apart from the blu-ray being broken.
Are my video settings ok? I am using the AV multi-out to my SDTV.
I really am running out of ideas here guys.
Does anyone have the knowledge to help.
Many thanks so far!
~MCJeffsy!
EDIT: Also, I am unsure what the APP//PS3Home thing is. I always get an error when loading it.

Did you update the firmware normally through the xmb or did you go through the recovery menu?

hello blazie,
I used recovery menu for the updates.
Thanks
