    Sup PSGroovers,
I'm a bit of a noob in the PSX jb scene, though I know my way around computers and what not.

The reason im posting today is to ask you groovers about waninkoko's v2 jb.
I have the 40gb fat cechh02 model (might be australian only because i can't find anything on it).

I read that PL3 can't play GT5 but hermes can?

That's the game i have eyes on now and i keep getting some crappy error using multiman 1.15.3 or whatever it is now, the game just isnt booting.

Should i install wannys new v2?

Also, if I restore back to OFW 3.55 then go to Wannys, will all the games I have on my HD be deleted?

I have done many searches and googles before someone tells me to /search

    Thanks.

I have the 40GB fat model too, even though i'm from Greece.
I changed from kmeaw's cfw to OFW 3.55 and then to waninkoko's v2 and all homebrew apps n games remained as they were, not a single change.

I don't know about GT5, haven't tested that game. But you could change to Waninkoko's n see for yourself, it doesn't really take much time switching CFWs :P

Well I would go for Waninkoko V2. I had V1, went to recovery mode and installed directly V2, now alot more games work with the new multiMan and Waninkoko's V2. Not sure about GT5 but I believe it works.
You wont lose any game data/save games/backed up games when updating to another firmware.

It's always safer to make you own CFW, but if the pre made is from a trusted source then it's totally up to you if you want to take the risk.

Like the post above me says, it's safer to make your own. If you have trouble making it i could post the one i've made but then again i don't know if i'm considered a trusted source :P i'm not sure if checking the MD5 Hash is enough.

If you want the most compatible firmware then you should go to kmeaw's cfw. It's the only one that's supported by ALL devs, allows the payloads to change without reflashing your console (so if PL4H comes out for 3.55 you can use it without reflashing), and allows you to run unsigned code (like the new linux installer). Of course, the decision is yours, but I personally have a ceche01 and have never had a single problem or game that wouldn't boot on kmeaw's cfw.

Also, I don't trust anything from wan after he bricked so many wiis and ps3s, isn't even concentrating on fixing all the ps3s he bricked (which were only bricked because he didn't test his release on both nand models [I mean, come on. If only 2 nand models exist wouldn't you test your firmware with both models??? It's a shame common sense isn't common anymore], and didn't tell the end users they were alpha testers), then blamed failoverflow.
