Geohot to kmeaw with backing up.
Geohot to kmeaw with backing up. –
I'm new to this scene, and I could really use some help understanding this surplus of information with the 3.55 jailbreak.
My goal is to be able to back up games safely and play them online. As of right now I have updated with the geohot jailbreak on my 320gb slim (PS Move bundle) and installed a few emulators, along with some other homebrew I haven't run at all yet.
Can you run the newest version of multiMAN v1.13.03 on the geohot jailbreak? Or would I need to switch to kmeaw? I understand you have to patch this in some situations?
Also, aside from just running multiMAN v1.13.03 on geohot or otherwise, would any other actions have to happen? FTP? Or would I just be able to pop in my disc and go for it?
As far as saftey is concerned, would games be able to play on PSN?
Look, I know, I am a noob, and I should just lrn2google, but this is all pretty greek to me, so some help would be very appreciated.
You do have to be on Kmeaw's CFW in order to run any backup manager. You will need to flash back to OFW through the recovery menu, then to Kmeaw's CFW through the recovery menu. A guide is below...

To your "safely" question, its up in the air. Because PS3 hacking is new, and $ony has never issued bans for this type of action before, no one knows what's gonna happen. Speculation and past occurances (with the PSP scene) has shown $ony might not do anything other than update their firmware enough to make it inconveinent. Of course, since this is a much more prominent console than the PSP, they might get fed up and start issuing console bans. If thats the case, your PS3 would get blacklisted from accessing PSN. As of now, no one knows if they will ban, what they will ban for, or even to what degree they can detect modifications to consoles.
@bpinick - this is the second post I've seen (out of 2 I've opened), where you are posting the EXACT same message. Please do not troll the forum pasting ads for your site Thank you.
