So I was an idiot. I was trying to get the 1.04 update for Black Ops, and connected my PS3 to my router with an ethernet cable. I've had no problems resulting from updating Just Cause 2 and Red Dead Redemption through the web, and figured I'd have no problems as long as I didn't update my system firmware.
Then, while it was downloading, I left for lunch.
I got back two hours later, and it was stuck at a black screen. I've had black screens on game updates before, so I didn't think anything of it, going to delete the system data from the PS3 and re-opening Open Manager. Only to find that I'm getting error code 80029519.
Basically, my eclips3 modchip now doesn't work. I can boot it up the usual way (holding the eject button right after turning it on); the red LED will change to a green one, then the PS3 will load, but all effects of the modchip are completely blocked. I don't get the extra two options in the GAME XMB menu and my system firmware remains at 3.41 (I'm using the 3.55 spoof). I'm completely lost now; I've tried reflashing the chip, I've tried upgrading to 3.50 then downgrading back to 3.41, nothing works. The only thing I haven't tried is to restore the system backup I had back when I just got the jailbreak, but I'm not sure if it'll even work, and if at all possible I want to keep all my saves and trophies I've gotten.
The PS3 itself isn't bricked; everything works. I can play original discs without any trouble. I'm still on 3.41, I can't go onto PSN. Is there anyone in the same situation as me who can help out?
