I have two fat ps3s. One is a 3.55 kiosk. The other is full retail with Geohot's 3.55 firmware. Could I update the kiosk's firmware to Geohots, install a file manager and copy the /dev_fflash/vsh/ files from my retail machine over to my kiosk in order to turn it into retail?

I just don't want to buy a payload device and downgrade my kiosk box and lose blu-ray.

dev_flash is not overwritable with a file manager. In order to do this you would need to use the mount_alejando pkg, and I would really not recommend it, as it will most likely brick your ps3. AFAIK, there was a project to get cfw on kiosk units. Search around the forums, I saw it in latest news a while back.
