I'm trying to upgrade my PS3. What I want to do is upgrade it, but remove all remnants of a jailbreak. This is because I think I left some games in the GAMES directory and I forgot to remove them before installing Official Firmware.

So my question is, will the transfer utility move everything in the GAMES directory (has anyone tried this?). I think it does because there is about 17GB of space that is unaccounted for that I think is from a game I forgot to delete.

Has anyone else been in this situation? What is the best way to upgrade? I have multiple profiles from other users ... and some of the saves won't copy to USB.

    Thanks for any help.

If just want to upgrade to the newest firmware all that you have to do is create a backup through the ps3. After the backup is done and the trophies had been synced, format the hard drive and then upgrade, restore the backup and you are good to go. Thanks.

Sorry, that didn't answer my question. I was not looking to update to the newest firmware, I was looking to upgrade hard drives. Also, I don't think the backup utility works, because it keeps the old game files that I cannot delete (files I transferred over FTP to the PS3 back when I had a jailbroken PS3). Thanks for the effort anyway.
