total ps3 hacking n00b here, trying to figure this all out. i've got the geohot half

so last night i fell victim to getting totally owned by some hackers in MW2 on my PS3 to the point that i lost most of my titles and emblems and a lot of my weapon accessories and stuff by losing all of my completed challenges... i was PISSED about those lost titles and emblems and after festering about it for a while i got the "if you can't beat them, join them" mindset.. lol

so here i am

now before you think i'm 100% n00b and am totally ignorant about what needs to be done and need total hand-holding to get through this i wanna say i've just spent about 3-4 hours searching google, youtube, and random forums i found through both of those resources to try to answer my own questions first. i'm hitting a wall though and though that posting here (one of the places i stumbled across on my morning research that seemed to have plenty of knowledge)

i'll use THIS post as my "blueprint" i'll reference through this thread:
i'm NOT in front of my PS3 at the moment, all these questions are being asked so when i get home i am as prepared and knowledgeable as possible when i start doing this tonight/this weekend.

so the first half ("how to jailbreak") i have down, i've downloaded the files and i'm ready to go.. no problems

here's where i'm stumbling though..... the second half mentions "installing packages"
i'm assuming "packages" are what the actual hacks come from, (#1 is this correct?)?

bottom line is i want to be able to fire AC-130 rounds from my gun, see through walls, super-jump, unlock all my own titles back, etc... i want to see the menus on MY screen that i saw on the guy's screen who was owning me last night in a nut-shell... so that's my desired final outcome here

my assumption that these menus and hacks came from the "packages" and not just the "jailbreak' is my first question. is this correct?

secondly, if i'm right about this i'vedone a good bit of searching for "apps" or "packages" that i can download to do this... and i've come up blank all morning.
the CLOSEST i could find was a bunch of "challenge lobby" 'packages'. the videos for this doesn't look like what i'm hunting for.

i feel like i'm half-way to what i where i want to be, i'm just hitting a brick wall
and could realy use some help here.
i'm hoping this place is as useful of a reasource as it appears to be... help a brotha out !!! lol

i'll be lurking here all day, so any replies to me that are willing to help me out/ explain what i need to do post-jailbreak to get to my final desired effect will be replied to pretty quick

you need comgenies awesome file manager... and a 3.55 jailbroke ps3 .. i only quickly scanned through your ESSAY lol so think im on right tracks of what your trying to do.. if your trying to host Challenge Lobbys then you need jailbreak 3.55 ps3 .. install that via usb .. then install comgenies file manager via the install packages... then you need to download a patch_mp.ff and put that on usb... use comgenies file manager to transfer to the hard drive.. copy over MW2 patch.. there are vids on youtube .. pm me for more details ill be willing to help you setup

i don't THINK challenge lobbies are what i want. i want (forgive my incorrect slang if i'm wrong) what i'd assume would be called "god mode" or something similar.
check out the youtube vid i linked... i want suicide harriers, guns that fire rockets and AC-130 rounds, etc.. i saw a bunch of this happening in the room i was in.

does that menu giving you those options come from the 'challenge lobbies' package ?
the name 'challenge lobbies' doesn't SOUND like what i'm looking for.

and yeah, it is a bit of an essay.. lol sorry
i figured i would be better served to explain why i'm here well the first time than to waste everyone's time replying to me about a misunderstanding of what i'm looking for.

i want to be able to do what the guy in the youtube vid i linked is doing. i have the jailbreaking half figured out and am assuming i need to download some 'packages' to get my desired outcome.
#1 am i right about th packages?
#2 if i am, where do i need to go/what do i need to download to get the menus and abilities the guy in the youtube vid has (and the guy who was owning me last night had)

1. Chill out. I'm all for people doing whatever they want on their machines. (although i do believe that players who cheat at online games vs non cheaters SHOULD be Exiled to a separate game space, full of other jerks. ) as for you, sir or madam, i can't help you with any of you pkg questions, but as you seem to have previously had 0 interest in altering your machine, id give the situation a bit more time. I'm not saying to not take this route, but just to wait, see what happens, before you make what seems like a rash, angry decision. given time, your games developers may address this issue themselves. Just know that these are still uncharted waters. there May be consequences not worth digital revenge. Or go buy another ps3.

Most glitches and hacks get patched, and if your on OFW and are only trying to go to CFW to cheat online, I would say don't risk a possible future ban over it. From my understanding, most of the cheats floating around don't even require a JB console, they use modified save game files. My neighbor cheats on SOCOM everyday, with grenade launchers in ranked matches and an assualt rifle instead of a pistol for his seconday weapon, and he didn't even know what a JB console was (and he still sucks, lol).

If your really upset about it, do what I used to do in the great ole Halo 2 days. Set up network-bridging using your computer and an IP blocking program, as well as a lag switch program. Use the lag switch to force yourself host, and get all your buddies ip addresses saved. If someone is cheating, most of their cheats won't work because they require host, which you'll have; and if want to, you can just boot them from the room by blocking every currently connected ip that's not in your white list (which should have your friends and the main server).
