Tips for Staying Safe on PSN?
Tips for Staying Safe on PSN? –
I just recently updated to 3.55 kmeaw from 3.41 and I never used the PSN up until now so before, this didn't really concern me. I realize that there isn't a 100% safe way to stay unbanned but how about some tips? Here are the current methods I'm using.
1. Running the latest multiman
2. Signing out of PSN whenever I launch multiman to switch games
3. Run PSNinja if I use homebrew(ever since going online, I'm too scared to run any)
Any other tips?
By the way, I'm aware of $ony's recent threat for possible PSN bans which is why I'm even more cautious.
Oh an one other question, multiman is stealth right(I understand its been stealth for a while but just double checking)?
Multiman is not true stealth. It clears the logs on boot, so it's gameid is only in the logs for a second. You should have your ethernet cord unplugged while running it though.
I've been asking around, and it looks like all $ony did was look at the logs and tag specific gameids. If you were to repackage homebrew under another gameid, one that's legit, it would be stealth. If anyone has a spare ps3 or one that they don't care if it gets banned, I have some tests I want to run to see if my ideas will work. I think I can make a true stealth ps3, but I don't have a spare.
I see, thanks for the tip! I would repackage multiman but I don't know how >_<
I'll look into it
I think Rogero is true stealth since I think it uses a "Gundam" game as an ID.
Yeah, but I have reason to believe that $ony can detect the gameids installed even if they aren't being ran. Are you trying to get back online and don't care if you get banned? It sounds like your try out something, and if you're gonna do that, let me share my expertise before you actually plug your ps3 back into the matrix (opps, I mean orlwellian internet. opps, I just mean the internet.)
I WOULD try stuff out but I'm no savvy when it comes to these things so I just have to rely on people >_<
But if I were the developer of the homebrews, I would give the apps real game id's like Rogero
If your theory of detection of apps without being ran is true, then I think I should delete my other apps xD
As of now, I'm disabling my connection(wifi) prior to running multiman every time then re-enabling it when I log in/switch games.
If your willing to try some stuff out, stay offline and unplugged for now and I'll talk to you about it through PM. I have an idea that will most likely work, but I need a guinea pig. Right now, if your online (even signed out) and multiman is installed, and I'm right, your about to get permanently banned; so just stay offline for now. I haven't unpacked rogero and seen if its 100% true stealth either, so don't even try that. When I get home in 7 hours I will be online and messing with true stealth to make all the stuff needed. If we can chat then, I'll have you use it all first.
Ok. I have the stuff made I needed for a trial run, once I get a guinea pig. I'm about 75-80% sure that if you use what I just made and followed directions carefully, anyone wanting to try this would not get banned, and be able to play their backups online. But I'm not 100% till I get someone to test it out first.
EDIT: PM me if you want to test it out.
