Theory possible downgrade:
Theory possible downgrade: –
Suppose you installed the firmware 3.56, and want to downgrade.
If we edit your version of firmware (PS3UPDAT.PUP), example: 3.55 to version 3.57 (and in fact the edited 3.55), the PS3 would install this firmware, believing it to be a newer firmware?
lol if it was that simple it wouldve been done a while ago
I'm black deal with it ;D
Rep+ if I helped you
I wish it were that easy.
Suppose we take emulator X of pc and put it on ps3 and rename it, it would work no?
I'm afraid to try, otherwise I would test.
it wouldn't work. you would need to sign the 3.55 fw with the 3.56/3.60 keys. otherwise the PS3 would reject the FW.
if you have a "theory" you should test it because nobody is going to do the risky work for you and risk bricking their PS3. Which it wouldn't.
I wont work that way.....
me neither. lulz.

I doubt it will work tho!
This would not work without some other things needing to be done. 1, you can't sign the firmware properly without the right keys. 2, you would need a modified lv2diag. 3, even the file permissions are different between 3.55 and 3.56, so more than just modification of 1 file would be needed.
