PS3 broke recently looking for a ps3 with 3.55 or lower to install CFW. Are stores starting to stock up with 3.56+ firmware consoles. If so, does anyone know what serial numbers they are using.

Not entirely sure, but I know that for 150 bucks Sony will fix your machine for you. Just need to find out if they also update your system. Does anyone know?
More than likely they probably do.... I remember I sent my box to m$ and the whole console and drive were different.
$ony will not update your system as long as you specifically request that you do not want it updated.
But that's not going to stop them from poking around to see what you have on your system once they have it fixed. Personally, if your system is JB, I wouldn't risk sending it to them. Bite the bullet and find one at a pawn shop or goto your local GameStop and purchase one that's been refurbished and hope for the best!
