I figured it out with a little research (cause I fubar'd things when they were working). It's suppose to say "Playstation Network" for the title...but I was trying to type too quickly.
Ok, so I managed to use this to actually bypass the "Sign-up for Playstation Network" and the information that's on http://psgroove.com/content.php?722-...PSN-Workaround didn't work for me. Soooo....this is what I did.
I Google'd to find a different DNS other than the one I found a while ago because it either wasn't working or I messed up a step trying different methods till one worked. (I'm not going to tell you the DNS for factors it's still considered "circumventing") I will say this much, it would be x.202.x.x (x = number).
So this is what I did. (I disabled the Media Server Connection because personally I never did figure out what server it's connecting to and I'm not for people just connecting to my stuff for no reason).
01. Go into Internet Connection under Network Settings in the XMB
02. Make yourself a sandwich (omit)
03. "Select a setting method", choose "Custom" then press right on the d-pad
04. If you're using a "Wired Connection" select it (because Wireless sucks!) otherwise choose the later option.
05. Let it "Auto-Detect" the network device
06. For the "IP Address Setting" again, "Automatic"
07. For the "DHCP host name" select "Do Not Set"
08. Take a poop...because you may need to!
09. This is just a side note/bar because some people have WEP etc encryption setup and that's fine. Make sure you're stuff on your end is set up properly there otherwise everyone else can omit this step.
10. "DNS Setting" if you were brave you found the DNS number I was referring to earlier (or the *coughutubecough* video with it). Here you'd select manual and enter the number in the "Primary DNS" and in the "Secondary DNS".
11. "MTU" select "Automatic"
12. "Proxy Server" select "Do Not Use"
13. "UPnP" select "Disable"
Yay!! Now you're at the end where it says "Press the X button to Save Settings". After you press X, it's going to ask you to "Test Connection". Everything should come back "Succeeded" (if you did everything properly).
Now, run the proxy program with everything on default (if you're running 3.55) other versions, I dunno if it will work or not, you'll have to test it and find out. Don't forget to click start on the proxy program.
When you goto "Sign-up for Playstation Network" it should bypass Sony's update. (This is everything I did and it worked...I'd hate to recreate the screwup I did a few weeks ago, but if I have to I shall to revamp the notes if enough people still can't get pass that screen).
From there you should be able to enter in your account information and log on. Hopefully this helps and works for those that couldn't get on.
BTW!!! You only have to run the proxy program once...after the DNS is setup you're good to go!
