I was trying to play SSX on my 3.55 dex machine. Someone recommended me getting a spoofer so I did so. It seemed to cause problems with my multiman, so I uninstalled it. After I did, I got the RSOD. Now I was told to NEVER reinstall dex firmware via the recovery menu, so WTF do I do now? Is there any way to safely fix this? Please, I need help A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who told you not to install DEX firmware from recovery? As far as I know firmware is firmware. As long as you've done the conversion and are currently on DEX you should be able to install from recovery menu. I was having trouble with my BluRay drive and I've done it on my slim

On another forum I was told that it can lead to a perma-brick. Maybe I didn't read it properly? Would reinstalling the firmware fix the RSOD?

The only ways I know that people are bricking when dealing with DEX is if they try to flash the whole flash dump instead of just the EID0 section, or if they physically touch the power button at any point after flashing (but before installing DEX firmware) because of a syscon check.

Reinstalling from recovery mode should fix your problem, but if I were you I would try to find the post you saw and re-read what was going on. You can post a link here if you like and I'll look at what happened

Hey NerdcoreMC, did you end up reinstalling from recovery. If so did you have to format the hard drive after installation? Today I've been doing some trial and error and found that every time I even go into Recovery it has to Rebuild Database, which fails, then I have to format
