RED LIGHT OF DEAD?

Hi mates,

My PS3 slim 120gb just started to beep 3 times when i wanted to turn it on. It lights green for a second, beeps 3 times then blinks red. It is not hot at all and theres still a black ops disc in which does not come out. It is running 3.65 ofw with free ps plus and welcome back package. It has been jailbroken on 3.55.1 rebug and the strange was it auto turned itself on each 10 mins to " auto download " . What to do now? Remove HDD then it works?

Don't do that.
Just download 3.65 ofw & install it from recovery menu.
-Download 3.65 UPDATE.PUP and copy that on you usb folder USB:>PS3>UPDATE>UPDATE.PUP

1. Open your ps3 & hold the pow button until it close.
2. Press & hold pow button until your ps3 open and close.
3. (Again) Press & hold pow button til you heard 3.rd beep. First one when your ps3 opens (thats not count) then 1 beep after that you can hear 2 beep. When you heard 2 rapid beep pull out your finger on pow button.
4. Connect your sixaxis via usb cable and press PS.
5. Select 6.th option and press Start+Select.

Now u gonna install your ofw again. If this not helping you, just try different options (Restore or Rebuild Database) on Recovery Menu.

if all above don't work there is a guy in TX who i sent mine to that reflows the chips for like $75 dollars and gives 90 day warrant. Here is his website. Worked great for me. And mine had kmeaw cfw on it and never affected it at all.

Fixed you dont want him to physically open the console and hold the power button till it closes right ;p

Can't hold the powerbutton. When i hold it for 3 seconds its aleady off again no matter how long i hold it. I have warranty, ofw 3.65 is already installed and my only option is the shop. They have to get my disc out (or $ony) and get a replacement slim ps3. It smells a bit burned tough so let's find out. I mention it was jailbroken but that WAS it now it is running ofw

i thought the same...
but someone suggested me to keep holding it...so i did..and got the recovery menu

and yea...if it is burnt...you should go for a repair then
