    hello,
    just wanted to ask if it is currently possible to re- enable the 3rd party usb function??
    it'd be nice if somone could help with that, thx!

    It still is enabled. You can still use your dongle to put the ps3 in service mode. Sony simply closed the hole used to insert custom code into run time memory, which can now be done through kmeaw's cfw. Just upgrade to kmeaw's cfw and you'll be set. Unless I'm misunderstanding you. The OP is very vague.

    sry, what i mean is if it's possible to use 3rd party usb controllers again, because they were disabled with fw 3.50 if i remember that correctly

    I have no idea. Why would they disable 3rd party controllers? That wouldn't make any sence.

    Sony claims that it did the right thing though, and released a statement saying that unlicensed third-party PS3 controllers were extremely dangerous.
    because they are sooo dangerous, or maybe because $ony makes no money with them

    Hello I got a Fat 60gb PS3 with 3.55 and ain't using any sony controller...

    My first is a Genious pc one and the second is a PS2 controller with a USB converter...

    So, it's working fine!
