ok ive had my new ps3 for about 3 weeks now and goes on psn just fine tell yesterday every time i try to log in i get psn timed out.

i am very tec savy and can not figure this one out did both the restore options in recovery menu. tryed power cycling router ps3 network. ps3 has internet cuz i can brows on it but i get no psn. o and tryed different dns and tryed my own modem as the dns but nothing.

i am on rogers and its a smc gateway router modem in one. but i dont think its the router.

if anyone can offer any more advice thx.

edit: psp goes on psn just fine so wtf....

I'm assuming you're on a custom firmware? If so you cannot log on to the PSN at the moment. At least not until another work around is found.

To add to tehmurpeh's post, its highly recommended you disconnect from the internet to prevent Sony detecting your custom firmware and banning your PSN account, or even PS3. We are unsure of what they are doing behind the scene so its best to place it safe, especially when we can't even use PSN anyway.

Could be your ports? Or maybe your ISP has decided to block ports that PSN is using. Get a mate to bring his PS3 over and test that? See if its your net or your PS3, its most likely something wrong with your ps3.

hmmmm, 2 days.... Could it have been a "bad behavior" 48hr ban? That's happened to a couple friends of mine.

This happened to me but I changed some random things in the network setting and it worked fine.

Could have been DNS or something.

Possible restarting the ps3 if it happens again? idk its a rare occurence but usually because of something easily overlooked.
