dude just get a usb hub only like 30 bucks
got one already would like to make it more slick
Make sure you get an externally powered usb. The internal usbs don't even have enough power for a external hard drive without connecting 2 usbs to it. If your peripherals are drawing too much current through the usbs it could cause problems in the future too.
You can buy the P3hub. it support multi usb http://www.fyygame.com/p3-hub-3.html
thanks for the reply guys ill look into it
I use 2 different externals that both require me to plug them into 2 usb ports for the extra power. On my computer I have to plug them both into 2 usb ports if I'm using the front usbs, but only 1 if plugged in the back, where the usbs are directly attached to the motherboard. Both externals I'm using are 5400 rpm laptop hard drives, both are 160 GB. Interestingly enough, when I was using a powered usb hub on my ps3, I only needed to plug them into 1 port. Maybe phats have less usb current? I have a ceche01. I just say to go with an externally powered one because if your trying to plug in an external hard drive while charging a few remotes, you'd be drawing too much power without the external power source. The main side effect would be your hard drive clicking and not being recognized because it wouldn't have enough power to spin up. If that happened while playing a game, say changing between levels, it would cause a black screen crash. That's what used to happen to mine before I realized I needed to use 2 ports for my external hard drive.
