Ps3 slim blue eject light on when system starts

hi, i got a ps3 slim with a broken blu ray. I got cfw 3.55 running but when i went to run some discless games such as vanquish it will take me back to the xmb only certain games would run such as dead space.

After much tinkering with it i noticed the blue light turns on when I first turn on the ps3. If I press the eject button the blue light turns off. I can then run games such as vanquish discless. Very weird.

Anyone know how I can make the ps3 start up without the blue light? I have no blu ray drive inside the ps3 just the logic board that attaches to the blu ray drive. I learned the hardway you need that board or else no homebrew works.

Hmm seems that the board needs some input from the drive to tell it whether or not something is in the drive, otherwise it defaults to disk in. Is it the board or the actual drive itself that was/is broken? If it is the board, you may need to replace and remarry it to fix this, if its the drive that was broken, maybe workout what is sent to the board to tell its its empty/full, and either emualte this or jus simply reconnect this componenet alone.

Its something hard to diagnose in my opinion, particularily because it wouldnt have been a problem that many people would have studied and solved due to its nature (that is, not being particularly hindering to function of the PS3). Maybe its just easiest to hit the eject button everytime you want to play it? I guess if you never intend to hook up a bluray drive in it again, you could install an electornic RF switch that activates the eject button, so you can do it from the comfort of your lounge/chair/bed/whatever. All it would require is a RF receiver, and smaller RF clicker.

Normal behaviour. I get blue light too when turning on my PS3 with just the logic board from the drive.
And not all games run discless, for some of them you need a disc in the drive for them to boot (unless you have Cobra USB).
