Rebug will stay on the ps3 as the firmware is on the nand not the hd, well the main part is on the nand, only if the ps3 has 16mb nand does some of the fimware go on the hd, format the hd on a computer and scan it for bad blocks/sectors.

You have two options now, use a gparted live cd or install Easeus partion manager, both should find the drive and let you delete all partitions or format it, then you should be able to do a disk check, oh and no the ps3 filesystem is not fat32, its got its own native filesystem.

Easeus Partition manager is available from http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

    And gparted from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management

It'll let you do it from there. Keep in mind you will not get a full 320GB because of how bytes and bits are calculated. My 160GB ps3 hard drive has 149GB usable.
