Playstation 3 through UHF
Playstation 3 through UHF –
Hi, I have a UHF cable running from my livingroom to my bedroom carrying a signal from my Sky satellite tv receiver, so I'm able to watch sky tv in the bedroom, in the livingroom I have my ps3 hooked up to my tv with HDMI. I was wondering if I bought a ps1 cable (UHF) and connected it up to the same long UHF cable, once I change the ps3s display setting, would I be able to tune my bedrooms tv to pick up the ps3? (The Bluetooth controllers work fine from the bed room)
Has anyone any knowledge on this?
You would only be able to view 1 signal, the cable will not carry 2, so you would either need a signal switch or manually unscrew one and screw in the other when switching inputs. As far as I know, a ps1 UHF won't work with the PS3 at all, you would need a HDMI to UHF converter, and I don't know if they even exist. I did a google search and saw an ebay page, but I'm at work and ebay is blocked so I can't see if it would work for you. Even if you could send the signal through a UHF cable, the quality degredation would be horrific compared to an hdmi cable. If your not able to move it due to the internet connection, just get a wireless router. If you can't move your PS3 closer to your TV for whatever other reason, just get a really long HDMI cable and run it next to the UHF cable, using zip ties (cable ties) to keep it from falling. CompUSA had one last weekend for $20, and it was a wireless N from netgear. They run specials like that all the time.
