I have a 3.55 kmeaw(?) PS3 that has no audio coming from the hdmi port. I get a nice bang when I change audio modes or launch a game but that is it. Any suggestions?
I don't really want to buy a component cable, unless I absolutely have to.
Thanks!

Have you isolated the issue to the PS3? By that I mean, have you replaced the PS3 with another HDMI device and tested the sound? Otherwise it could be an issue with your TV or receiver. Please post back with how the HDMI signal is routed to finally play on your speakers.
It was definitely the PS3 I ended up buying a component cable and after switching the video over to component I had sound again. Just for fun I tried switching the audio back to HDMI and it worked! It was just some weird bug I guess, if you are having this problem try switching to another video format momentarily.
