Last time I was interested in Jailbreak was when you still needed a Teensy++ board to use jailbreak... Looking at all the dongles around I assume that is no longer the case ? So the first and most obvious question is what do I need ? Something easy to use .. files on dongle and dongle to PS3 .. I hope. And where do I get it, somewhere with international shipping ? Our local modchip seller does sell some kind of dongle but it costs like $50

Also back then, when Teensy++ was needed, I'm fairly sure I read that the Jailbreak doesn't support downloaded games - You would need to have the disc to actually install from it. Is this the case anymore ? I still would probably buy games, but if it actually works I could actually test out games before possibly wasting my money.

Also most importantly, if Jailbreak is used it obviously means I can't update my firmware. Does this mean that I can't play any new titles that require higher firmware or will the Jailbreak bypass that ( Like in Wii, for example. ). Do I need to update my firmware by the way ? I got some 1yr old firmware, no idea about version but definitely not 3.41.

The reason I ask here, and not just browse google is simple : Atleast back then, there was dozens of fake videos and information going around, I'd probably have ended up fking up my PS3 had I used Jailbreak back then.

You still need a Teensy++ board or dongle to Jailbreak your ps3. I recommend E3 Card Reader which is $15 + free shipping on Lightake.com .

Now downloaded games are available , just very little games need to boot with a original disk in the driver .

Now only 3.41 or below is hacked , you are right , don't upgrade to the latest firmware until these is fix for that.

So to put it simply, if I buy this E3 Card Reader, what else do I need ? And do I just have to put the files onto the card ( where to get files ? ).

Is the reader usable on firmware below 3.41 or do I need to have exactly 3.41 ?

And the most important question you missed : Can newer titles be played that have higher firmware requirement ? For example GT5 was just released, can you play that with Jailbreak .. can you bypass the firmware requirements ?

You should read the review for E3 Card reader first .

It works with firmware 3.41 or below ..

Because 3.50 is not hacked so far , games like GT5 can't run on 3.41 or below . You need to wait if you want to get it played on 3.41 .
