Recovery menu is a great tool ..........
    1. Hold power button while console is turned off until it powers on then off
    2. hold again till you get 1 beep and as soon as you get 2 beeps release into the recovery menu

Im thinking ... File structure ... or recovery its really up to you

Haha, How did you manage it mate there has to be a fix if you really wanted it back you'd have to go to OFW 3.55 then back to your CFW but that just seems like too much dicking around for TV ahhaha

Yeah, flash back to OFW through recovery, then back to CFW through recovery and it will be there. It won't delete anything either, so it's not that much of a pain.

I'm surprised that it didn't fix it by flashing back to OFW then to CFW. If you were to format your internal hard drive on your pc and then re-install it in the ps3 it would bring that back, but its a pain in the neck process. I have a step by step on another thread. Don't know if it's worth it for a tv icon.

If you haven't already, in reovery mode, try the Restore Default Settings, Restore File System, and Rebuild Database options.

Well I thought you could just use the Recovery menu to fix such a problem but I must of been mistaken .....

I thought you could solve it by re-installing the firmware through recovery mode. I thought that re-wrote ALL the files related to the system software. Apparently they still only update a pre-defined list of files. If you want EVERY file re-written it sounds like it would require a format of the hard drive.

However; the other options in the recovery menu might do the trick, which is why I'm saying its a good idea to try them first.

Mick MakinaCore Murphy - If you haven't already, in reovery mode, try the Restore Default Settings, Restore File System, and Rebuild Database options. Let us know if that works.
