Need help resoving ps3 HDD issue

Hello i'm a new member to your site, but i have found it in the past to have the best news and information out there.

I repair consoles and PCs as a side business so i have learned many things about the PS3 though i have came across something i have not seen before.

i have an 80 gig CECHL01 that i purchased, it boots saying it has a system error and asks that the firmware be reinstalled. So i tried that and got stuck on checking forever.
From my experiences this has been due to a bad HD. So i put in a spare 60gig (100% known working) in and same thing.

So i put it into service mode and installed new firmware that way, everything went according to plan and when i took it out of service mode still had same problem.

So i looked at the dump file and noticed some errors i'm not sure what the are but i've never seen errors on there before.

So finally i went to restore database which said could not read HD. So i tried another 60, a 40, and a 20 all said same thing could not read from HD. (20 gig was formatted in another PS3 with same firmware)

Any help would be appreciated and thank you for taking the time to assist.
