First I was going to suggest pulling that sucker apart and doing the x-clamp mod.
Then I remembered I was not in an Xbox forum. :o

When I saw it, I immediately thought of the RROD that the 360 can get.

I personally have not pulled the PS3 apart yet.
Doesn't look very hard at all to get into.
I am planning on doing it this Summer just so I can replace the thermal paste and get some pictures for a tutorial.

    Edit..........
    Took out a bad link,
Will edit with something better in a few minutes.
Sorry, it was more of an advertising thing than an instructional.

    Edit again.........
don't know why I am unable to find the link I'm looking for.
Don't want to give bad info, so I am going to leave this as is until I can dig up the proper link.
It's a basic tutorial on cracking open the PS3 and how to replace the thermal paste.
Maybe someone else here knows of a link to it.
I would much rather go to my grave not needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it.

    BAM!!!!!!!
That's what I was looking for!

I knew I had seen this a while back.
Don't know why I didn't remember it being on Llama.
That place is a wealth of info.

If you decide to take this on , I would only consider using the Arctic Silver products (as perspex alluded to).
Arctic Silver 5 is good, but you do have to be quite careful with it.
The arctic Silver Ceramique is probably the better choice for this and is what I will use when I do mine.

I wouldn't try it on mine.
Some things I just will not experiment with.
    This is one of those.

    @Greg0u812
At least it would give you a nice smell in your room

(on topic: it does obviously NOT work.)

NOTHING can cover the smell in my room!!!
Especially after a good Mexican food dinner.
