I have about 5gigs left on my phat 40 gig ps3, I just bought a 1tb drive to replace the internal hdd
so after I install the drive do i have to reinstall the CFWs? or OFW?

the ps3 will still be flashed correct without a hdd right, so does Wutangrza's stick?

FW is on the nand if i remember correctly so the hdd has no part in it.
The wurangrza actually edits stuff on the RAM for it to work, still doesn't effect the HDD though. And also, PS3 has some troubles working with most 1TB HDD, so you should have gotten a 750/500GB HDD. But good luck anyway :)Quote:

If i replace my current 500GB drive with the stock one and see if i can get jailbreak to work. but when i go back to my 500GB drive will it reformat and delete everything on it or will it just start up like normal after being read? cant say for defo-i changed my 40gb to 250gb had to upgrade to 3.50(this was what the console was on when purchased)then downgrade again.In the middle of all this i put my old 40gb back in and it worked fine and was still jb.hope this helps.
If you swap out drives you will lose all data on the HDD. It will not start until it is formatted. You will retain your firmware.
damn thanks i have just been having lots of problems with black screens and freezes a suggestion was to use diff hard drive and fresh JB but i cant now because i have way to much info on PS3 and would not know where to put it. Would doing a file system restore help make less black screens and also keep my data intact? ThanksQuote:
