well i alwayz was a spectator when it comes to the scene, due to not having a jailbreak dongle my self...
i alwayz keep up with the news though, anyhow... i got a matter thats been bothering me for some time..this is gonna be a bit long so bare with it =]
the thing is, im planning on getting a P3GO sometime soon, now i know it doesnt support downgrading feature and stuff, but hopefully that will change sometime soon...so im also planning to upgrade my internal hard drive of the ps3, its 40gbs to 500gbs.... my question is the following...here is the scenario

* i want to go from 40gbs to 500gbs on the same ps3
* i wanna update the ps3 to 3.5 NOT 3.55
* after the update i wanna play 3.5 games such -NFS 11- USING the 40gbs Drive
* downgrade to 3.41 when i want to play my backups from the 500gbs drive

now i understand that when u insert the new drive it needs to be formatted so it can be used on the ps3, so lets say i format my 500gbs on the 3.41 FW and then place all my backups on it...then update to 3.5 while having the 40gbs in (saying its already formatted on the 3.41)...(yes im gonna be changing them each time i wanna do this), will the ps3 ask me to format it ?? if it does i have no problems with formatting the 40gbs (i did updates be4 and i knw ps3 doesnt format the HDD), but im afraid when i downgrade to 3.41 while having the 500gbs inside its gonna ask to format, and that i dont need cause all my back ups is gonna be there...

the thing that bothers me, that from wht i read, the 40gbs PS3 Models, installs the FW on the HDD, meaning if i do place the 500gbs inside, and format it i will need the PS3UPDAT.PUP, to get the ps3 running... now will that affect my plan by any means ?? considering the downgrading and upgrading ??

hopefully i explained wht i have on my mind in a way thats easy to understand, i knw its a missed up plan to begin with, but u knw how it goes with 1 ps3 =P
