Ive heard somethings on if a external has its own power source..i.e:plugin to wall. Then esata to sata?
so i thin im going to go for the 1tb for out 70.
does the ps3 have a sata connector cuz i hear speeds from esata (external) to sata are faster then usb.
and any files over 4gb automatically split on the external? how does that effect game play?
and just to be sure, after formating the external for the ps3 i can still use it on my PC as well??
I just ordered me one of these http://computers.pricegrabber.com/ha...v=all_details/. Other PS3 users seem happy with these because of the low fail rate these drives have. I am assuming it will fit perfectly as this is the only internal 1tb that I have read about other PS3 users are using. Others seem to be just a tad thicker which could be a problem such as this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...UNG-_-22152242. I currently have this Hitachi which is fast!!! I noticed a big difference on loading times. http://www.frys.com/product/5966014?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG wonder how the scorpio will perform :/ I will update when I receive and install it. I didnt want external because its a little slow compared to these.
Only reason I'm opting for the external is for the other uses for it side for ps3 games.
External...cost less and you get more and you get to use it with more things.
I went with an external HDD. Found a 1.5 TB for $70 at Wal-Mart. Haven't had any problems at all. Well, except for maybe Rock Band 3. Had to copy it to the internal HDD for it to work.
Any one have info with usb and sata?
