Identify blu-ray laser type –
06-06-2011,11:33 AM
Hi, my brother asked me to fix his laser on his PS3, i have disassembled the drive but i am now lost as can't seem to identify the laser, is there some sort of table i could look at to help me identify it, by the way its a 40GB Fat CECHG03 (2 x USB) and the lens is a single type lens.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The one with 2 lenses is a a kes 410 a. It quite easy to change 1 just make sure you dnt mess with all the gears this can make it very difficult for yourself.

I'm gonna change the whole module as the motor don't seem to be spinning up either, only got confused because i was seeing KEM and KES i then realised the one was complete module and the other just the laser.

Just an update, my laser assembly came yesterday, fitted with no problems, anyway i just wanted to let everyone know that i got the complete assembly for £36.04 ($57.60) very cheap imo, delivery took about 8-9 days but it was posted from china, very happy with the company (bestofferbuy.com) so if you need a laser assembly and dont mind a short wait i would give them a try, here is a direct link to the KEM-400AAA i purchased.
