    My external hd is 500gb but only 464.75gb is accessible and right now its moving slow like molasses and I'm on a fast processor built for pc gaming.

    you wont get access to 500GB as its not actually 500GB. Its actually a lot smaller then that due to a size calculation difference between the manufacturer and the standard system. So its normal for it to be 464.75GB.

    yuo can do a quick format with it, its only changing the filesystem, all stuff will be erased as normal

    too late, i waited like 4-5 hours for complete format! btw, games work great in the games folder. But I made Video folder and for some reason the ps3 can't detect video files on my fat32 external hd... Which is weird.
