I was wondering is there any way to use Ftp server with an regular ethernet cable? I googled it and all the results I got were badly described. If anybody know how to do this can you please post a tutorial(Windows 7) if possible. Thanx.

    Hey, okay lets go
    First you need.
A Cracked Ps3 with FTP Server
Filezilla on your Computer.(if u dont have it, Download and Install it)
If you Install it (AND HAD A GAME FOR PS3 ON YOUR PC) , run it and set the IP,
on the top , to the IP which is shown when u run FTP SERVER on your PS3

Connect your Pc with an Standard Internetcable and Log in (filezilla on the right side on the top)

Then navigate to your PS3 Game Folder - and Drag the Ps3 Game into the Ps3 Folder

    And uhave done it

yes, it CAN be done without the use of a router using a "crossover cable" (an ethernet cable w/ 2 wires switched). However it is VERY slow and crappy. other than that, yeah listen to what Playhead90 said. i did this w/ my original xbox back in the day after using chimp to replace it's 8gb with an 80gb. it can be done, it's just not something you wanna do.

    <edit> That help?

Probably won't go with the crossover cable will try Playhead90 method and see if it will work it just takes to long wirelessly to FTP. Thanx for the help.

    try these. http://www.ps3news.com/forums/ps3-gu...pc-117598.html

I have not tried this but the other crossover approach i tried never worked for me.

If you are looking for faster transfer to PS3 you can try the multiman with NTFS support to copy from external NTFS HDD to PS3 internal HDD. its faster and transfer at 25~30 MB per sec. if you need a tutorial on how to do this let me know. I use this method and sure it works for me.

hey no problem. I saw this thread on the main page and thought it might have been something different to try. when I saw what you were looking for i was like "hey, I saw a thread about this last night". It has been quite useful for me as well, if you read my comment on the cR thread you would notice that I was having major issues using ftp because of my lack of paying for internet right now lol. thanks for the rep
