Help needed PS3 has blinking red light –

Hi guys,
I just got blinking red light on the PS3. Now I don't know for sure what is the cause but I have two guesses. 1. Either playing snes emulator on my PS3 CFW 3.55 did my system in or 2. my PS3 overheated. I think it's #2 because my PS3 has been overheating and the fan is loud. Can anyone please help?

Wow this a bummer. I've spent the last 24 hours figuring out how to fix my PS3. After browsing several videos and collecting materials, tomorrow I'm going to use a video on fixing my PS3. It seems like my PS3 overheated. I opened a few parts up and it was covered in so much dust. I'll have to use the whole flow, flux, heat gun and thermal paste things. It sucks so much especially after installing all of these snes and genesis emulators, roms.

Phew I fixed my PS3 YLOD last night using a video guides on youtube. I used mostly fixmyplaystation channel for the diassembly, cleaning, adding artic silver 5 thermal paste, and reassembly. But for the reflow process I used djwhetzel and gilksy1 videos. Big Note for you guys: ONLY RELOW THE RSX PROCESSORS AND NOT THE WHOLE MOTHERBOARD! I Just wanted to add that for people who have the YLOD. Well I'm back to my PS3.
