I've been looking around and readin...so basically what does a the blackb0x do? And eboot files here how do you use'em? I tryed nba jam it shows as pkg file I install it to mt ps3 the icon hows but when I try to play it nothing? Am I doing it wrong? And the blackb0xwhats the deal with that? Any easy to use guide would help for both of these questions. Once again thx psgroove community
OK, you've been reading some but not the right things. Modified eboots aren't needed anymore, that was only a temp solution until someone got backup managers running on 3.55 cfw, which kmeaw did. And blackbox is used to transfer your games and data to your internal hard drive. Here's what you need to do...
Flash to 3.55 OFW through recovery mode, then to kmeaw's 3.55 cfw through recovery mode. A guide is below...

After that, install multiman and your set. Multiman contains both a backup manager and a ftp file transfer client. If you want to transfer info just start multiman, type the ip address multiman lists into your pc ftp client (flashfxp, filzilla, etc), and transfer whatever you want. Any games you want to play should be in [internal or external hard drive]:\GAMES\[gameid].
I'm using wutangza and multi man 14.1.00 mega pack does that make a difference??
Not really. Though you should be on kmeaw's cfw for compatibility with all homebrew. Flash back to OFW 3.55 thorugh the recovery mode, then to kmeaw's cfw through the recovery mode. A guide is below...

Not really. Devs choose what firmware they center their apps around. The most popular and most functional CFW is kmeaw's because the payload that boot managers use can be changed without having to re-flash your ps3. The boot manager with the highest support for games (i.e. no blackscreens, can update fine, runs without crashing) is multiman 1.15. The dev of it is deanrr, and he tests his application on his own ps3, which is running 3.55kmeaw. Also, kmeaw's cfw doesn't require signatures, and doesn't hard code any syscalls in the nand (making it safer). So again, if you want maximum compatibily with both games and homebrew apps, kmeaw's cfw is the way to go. If you want all your backup games to play, multiman is the way to go.
