ok so for everyone that helped me on my last post knows i had a PS3 on the 8002F14E update error due to a faulty blu ray drive.
i got past that error and i am on Kmeaw 3.55 CFW
when i went to install a PKG like multiMAN and rogero Manager they install correctly but when i click on it it loads up but goes straight to a black screen before even showing anything on the screen.
so i used PS3MFW to create a PS3 CFW and removed the BluRay Drives so i could update easily without an error and it worked Perfectly.

so now it's still doing the same thing with the PKG's.
i have full formatted the HDD but no luck there...

can someone help me!?!?

also if i downgrade to 3.41 and use a JailBreak USB would that work??? but if i get the error in the downgrade process wouldn't that incur in a brick?? or could i use Ps3 MFW to create a 3.41 pup WITHOUT the blu ray drivers or do i have to use a special already modded PUP for 3.41?

Just curious if you installed OFW 3.55 before the CFW? That's odd that they installed but won't load at all. Does everything else load ok? Original games etc?

ok
the first F/w the unit was on when i bought it off eBay was 3.15
i updated to OFW 3.55 first
then Kmeaw and i had problems with pkg's
then i went to restore back to ofw 3.55 and i had it on the USB but it said "no applicable update data found"
but it picked up another kmeaw F/W perfectly.
so i re-updated to kmeaw and still had PKG problems
so i made the PS3MFW with no bluray drivers to avoid the errors in the Updates (it took me a day at least to do 1 update)

yes i can watch movies and listen to music but the blu ray drive is broken and as said i removed the drivers.


no pkg will load at all, even an FTP server



oh and the recovery menu will not pick up any F/w on any USB at all.

So i assume you got the update file in yourusbdevice:\PS3\UPDATE, did you double check the update is correctly named? it should be PS3UPDAT.PUP

yeah all is named correctly but i can get past the update part i just want to know why i can't load any package i download

found this tutorial can i do it without a Downgrade device?
and i have found a modded LV2diag.self to bypass the blu ray checks so i am in luck!

You can downgrade using a psp or android phone also if you have one of those.

tried downgrading with a PSP with ps3jig and it sends the codes but it won't turn off straight away like it's meant to it just boots up normally :/
any ideas?

Timing might be off when your hitting power and eject on the ps3. Make sure your using the factory service mode payload on the psp. Works better for me when I don't have a disc in the blu ray drive.

the correct payload was on it i think as i downloaded it from the offical ps3jig website.

and on the video it says the ps3 should turn off straight away and then you insert a normal USB with lv2diag.self (in my case, a modded one to avoid the blu ray) and then it turns off when done downgrading and then you take it out of service mode.

but i cant even get it into service mode to start the downgrade.


i just want to know if there is a way to fix why the PKGs won't open.
