External or Internal
My PS3 HDD is refusing to unscrew. Cant be bothered with buying more screwdrivers and a Dremel isn't worth it for me. So to save my time and money I'm considering a internal to external case.
So, if you were to get a 500GB internal drive or 500GB external drive, what would it be?
What type of PS3 do you have that you have that you can't unscrew the hard drive?
Guess the better question is, what type of screwdriver are you using?
60gb, I've bought phillips and flat heads but the screw is very tight and now stripped.
Best ones I know to use are the tools you'd use for taking apart a PC. One of those ratcheting screwdrivers works perfectly honestly. If you have one of those, I suggest use it. Go with the Phillips head and apply a good amount of pressure, it should come loose without having to use a dremel or a tap and die to remove the screw.
Then once they're removed, goto your local Home Depot/Lowe's or possibly auto parts store for replacement screws.
Yeah, they're usually tight because of the thread locker that's used...but I wish you luck.
Push comes to shove, you can call "the man" and ask if they can send you a replacement tray and screws. It's their product after all! lol

or try going to like best buy and ask them to unscew it for u should work
I seriously do not even know how to reply to that. You couldn't be bothered with buying more screwdrivers (one that actually fit) but you apparently could be bothered with stripping the head of the screw???????

My only suggestion would be to go with what rrrboy159 is saying about Best Buy.
You could try taking it to a computer repair shop and see if they know of a way to pull the screw.
Only other options would be "drill and tap" (which would allow replacing the internal)..........or buying an enclosure and adding an external.
If you do not have the abilities to "drill and tap", I would go external and call it a day.
I don't know if you can get a pair of needle nose pliers on the head of the screw, but you might try that. I have pulled some pretty nasty screws out of computers with those.

Cut a slot into the head with a dremel and take it out with a "breaker bar" flat-head. One of those big ones your could shish-ka-bob someone with, lol. I do it everytime I strip a screw (which you won't do with a good tool set).
put 1tb internal 2tb external
