Can't use psgroove payload on 3.55?
Can't use psgroove payload on 3.55? –

I've got a kiosk/demo console with 3.55 firmware. I'm trying to downgrade it using this method: Here.
My dongle is a MatrixPS3. I'm not sure which psgroove/psfreedom/psgrade payload to use. So I just went to the website and downloaded their firmware, I tried their Hermes_v4b, their downgrade firmware.
I'm turning off my ps3, then unplugging the cable/flipping the rear switch, plugging in my dongle, then when I flip the switch or plug it back in, it automatically turns on so I race to hit the eject button but it never works. One time the fans got really really loud, then after a few seconds the ps3 shut itself off. Does that mean it was working?

Can someone please tell me if I can put a 3.55 ps3 into service mode using a matrixps3 dongle. Thanks.

That dongle advertises that it works with any hex and its the cheapest downgrade dongle around. So yes.

I'm not sure why they advertise that. It isn't true. I downloaded the newest psgrade files just now and I'm going through every single hex file and I just get "error loading files". It does accept other payloads. What payload am I supposed to use for 3.55 anyway besides the newest psgrade/psgroove?
Too bad there is no contact information for matrixps3. I don't think it would make a difference anyway.

Nevermind, I used this method and it worked. Thanks.
