Can't Update PS3 + RSOD
Can't Update PS3 + RSOD –
11-22-2012,11:51 PM
Hey Guys,
I know this is my first post, however I've been a long time lurker here. Anyways I have a problem I'd like to try and solve before black friday ends, so I know whether to buy a new ps3 or not.
My Current system in a Ps3 Slim 250GB from December of 2010. Anyways here is the log of what has happened, and what I've tried so far.
-Jailbroke PS3 (Ps3Break v1.2)
-Used Ps3 For a While
-Upgrade to CFW
-Re-downgraded to 3.41
-Re-JB
-Try to Upgrade to OFW About 1 year later ( 3.41 to 4.x )
-Get Error (Don't Remember the Exact Number) That says 'System Data is Corrupt'
-Try Almost Every Firmware I can find
-All Get the Same Error
-Try Reformatting PS3 Via Ps3 Menu (Full Format not Quick), taking 18 hours.
-Tried Upgrading Again (All FW's I could find again)
-Same Error
-Try Formatting Ps3 HDD through PC
-Can no longer get to XMB
-I get a Screen that says ' Ps3 Software Version 3.73 (Last Version I tried), and asks me to plug in a Ps3 Controller
-Following the Steps Also provides System Data Corrupt
-Still cannot reach XMB
-Flash Ps3break v1.2 with the downgrade mHex
-Try to Put Ps3 In Factory Service Mode
Things to Note
-The Screen Does Not Stay Black While Ps3Break is in, and simply turn off, allowing me to enter factory service, it shows the 'Ps3 3.73' Screen again, and then proceeds to give me the RSOD.
-Get RSOD
-Turning On PS3 Now Results in the 3.73 Screen, promptly followed by the RSOD without doing anything. The Red Screen says 'A serious error has occurred. Contact technical support for assistance.
-Still Unable to Enter Factory Service
Also, I have tried every option available in the recovery menu.
Honestly not sure what to do, I can't really afford a new Ps3, and I just bought a couple new games and a new controller for it, as well as Black Ops 2, which I ended up buying for my Mac to hold me over, although I prefer the Ps3.
Thanks Guys!
