If you don't want to risk a ban then you should stay offline for now.

People have been banned with both methods. The method to get online has had nothing to do with it. $ony is not actively banning, and hasn't been since fpsn was released. They are most likely still flagging for a future ban wave. Clean logs prevented the warning; but they went back weeks, even to before log cleaning was available. Multiman deleted logs on boot, so using that kept you safe as log as you were disconnected from the net while using homebrew.

Possibility. I hope that's the case, but if the issue were big enough yet they'd be forced to start reversing bans, stating that people had gotten banned because their psid was compromised.

I have a feeling that being banned is inevitable, PSN was not bought, its owned and run by Sony. So they have their rights to ban you. However a full PS3 ban is daft and illegal. Live is blocked by hackers (correct me if I'm wrong), so I feel like its imperative for them to do the same. Otherwise PSN will be a **** up - for Sony of course. KnowahImean?
